Training – A Waste or an Investment - Our Guarantee

When most businesses are asked; “what differentiate them from their competition?” They tend to list: products, services, location, and price. When they are then asked; “which ones could your competitors copy if they wanted to?” The same list tends to apply. There is however only one true differential any business has that can’t be copied and that is, its people. They provide you with the continual advantage over your competition that you need.

Many businesses see training their staff as a nice to do or a have to do, rather than a want to do. Often it is difficult to see the benefits it can bring their business, such as, more effectiveness, increased profit and growth, better leaders and overall improved motivation and communication. The problem with training and development in most cases is that it is not easy to measure, unlike say, a new machine or a new product line. Anybody in business likes to see an immediate return on their investment. Spend £1 and get £2 back, something that is tangible. However, when we talk about training our staff, companies tend to see this as money spent rather than invested. At best we speak to staff after they have attended training and ask the question “How did it go?” and invariably we get the response “yeah, it was quite good.”
